Closed areas: No access to Wilsons River picnic area and surrounding walks

Wilsons River Reserve and visitor precinct, including walking trails, are closed from 31 December 2020 to Monday 31 May 2021. This is to allow flood damage - including a washed-away section of the bridge over Wilsons River - to be repaired and debris removed.

Closed areas: Areas closed due to bushfire damage

Some parts of this park are closed due to extensive bushfire damage. Essential safety works are currently underway. 

The closed areas are:

  • Brushy Mountain campground 
  • Racecourse trail (leading onto Coachwood trail in Willi Willi National Park)

Closed areas: Crowdy Bay Road 4WD only in some sections

Crowdy Bay Road can be accessed by 4WD only between Crowdy Gap campground and Coralville Road due to water over the road.

You can access Crowdy Gap campground from Harrington. You can also access Diamond Head, Indian Head and Kylies Beach from Laurieton or Coralville Road.

Wet weather is causing rough surfaces on all park roads. Please drive with caution. For more information, contact the local NPWS office.

Other planned events: 1080 fox baiting operation

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of European Fox. The program will be conducted between Monday 22 February and Monday 8 March 2021 on Gap Beach in Hat Head National Park.

All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Kumbatine Brook Road in Kumbatine National Park is closed until Friday 30 April 2021. The closure is to enable bushfire recovery works to repair roads and walking tracks.

The historic Roto House within Roto House Historic Site is closed for until further notice. Reopening planning is underway for after the Covid restrictions change.

The grounds and carpark of Roto House Historic Site remain open to the public.
