Closed parks: Park closed for 1080 ground bait program
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting a 1080 ground baiting program in Terry Hie Hie Aboriginal Area Sunday 1 June to Thursday 31 July 2025. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes.
The following Parks within the Terry Hie Hie AA will be closed for the duration of the program:
- Terry Hie Hie
- Mission North
- Mission South
- Courallie
- Campbell Montrose
- Berrygill
The following areas will remain open for the duration of the program:
- Terry Hie Hie picnic area
- Yana-y Warruwi walking track
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species. Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting locations.
Domestic pets are not permitted on NPWS estate. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an aerial baiting program from 11 May 2025 to 1 June 2025 in the following reserves:

Forest Road between Coolah Creek Road and the entrance of Coolah Tops National Park is managed and maintained by Warrumbungle Shire Council. Major roadwork is currently being undertaken on this section of road and is anticipated to be completed by October 2026.

There are significant washouts on the gravel section of Kaputar Rd in Mount Kaputar National Park.
Washouts can be harmful to vehicles and passengers. Please travel this section of road with caution and drive through washouts at very low speed.
