Closed parks: The Glen Nature Reserve closed due to landslips and flood damage

The Glen Nature Reserve is closed until further notice to allow contractors to undertake landslip remediation. The closure has been put in place for the safety of both visitors and the contractors. The planned works and this closure may be weather dependent.

NPWS apologises for any inconvenience.

Closed areas: Flood affected areas within Myall Lakes National Park

The following areas in Myall Lakes National Park are temporarily closed due to flood impact:

  • Multiple campgrounds and associated picnic areas (see list of affected areas)
  • Yagon Road
  • Gas barbecues at Neranie and Mungo Brush picnic areas.

NPWS is working towards reopening these areas as soon as possible.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an aerial baiting program from 13 October to 27 October 2025 in the following reserves:

  • Barrington Tops National Park/State Conservation Area
  • Towarri National Park / Wingen Maid Nature Reserve / Cedar Brush Nature Reserve
  • Wallabadah Nature Reserve
  • Woolooma National Park
  • Ben Halls Gap Nature Reserve/National Park
  • Camerons Gorge Nature Reserve/State Conservation Area
  • Curracabundi National Park/State Conservation Area, Bretti Nature Reserve, Mernot Nature Reserve, Watchimbark Nature Reserve, Woko National Park, Monkeycot Nature Reserve, Coneac State Conservation Area, Camels Hump Nature Reserve, Khatambuhl Nature Reserve
  • Copeland Tops State Conservation Area
  • Berrico Nature Reserve
  • The Glen Nature Reserve

The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.

The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.

Signs will be placed at authorised entrances to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks and most other NPWS managed land. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

  • Myall Lakes National Park is always open but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

  • Park entry fees:

    $8 per vehicle per day.

    Day passes are available from a card operated pay machine at Mungo Brush campground or from the Manning Great Lakes Area Office. You can also pay for your visit via the Park’nPay app. You’ll need a Day Pass or Annual Pass when visiting the park.

    Bombah Point ferry fees may also apply (cash payment only).
