Part of Somersby Falls walking track will be closed until 6pm Friday 19 June 2026 for upgrade works.
The closure affects the section of the walking track between the Middle Falls and Bottom Falls.
The walking track to Middle Falls, the picnic area and the carpark will remain open during this time.
Fencing and signage will be in place around the closed area to ensure visitor safety.

Closed areas: Hilltop Street access to Crackneck Lookout Carpark Closure for Repairs
Hilltop Street, Bateau Bay is undergoing road repairs on both Central Coast Council and National Parks and Wildlife Service tenure. These repairs commenced on 11th May.
The road access to Crackneck Point Lookout and carpark will be closed on 9th and 10th June 2026 while these repairs are conducted. This date is weather dependant and may change.
Crackneck Point Lookout will still be open to walk to via the Coast Track Walking Track.
Please drive safely and park in appropriate nearby areas if required and follow the directions of roadwork signage and traffic control.

Closed areas: Notice of UAV (Drone) weed spray program
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an aerial spraying program from Tuesday 9 June 2026 to Friday 26 June 2026. The operation will use Glyphosate 360 g/L for the control of Bitou bush.
The program is designed to control Bitou bush infestations in remote and inaccessible locations.
The program will take place at Pelican Beach in Wyrrabalong (North) National Park and Moonee Beach in Munmorah State Conservation Area.
NPWS staff will be present and patrolling closed areas during the operation. The following closures will apply when operations are underway:
Wyrrabalong National Park:
Sections of Pelican Beach between Pelican Beach Lookout to Pelican Point.
Munmorah State Conservation Area:
Moonee Beach Fire Trail - beach access points will be closed with access permitted via the walking track steps and the beach to the north of these access locations.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the spray locations and there will be no public access during the spray operation. The spray operation is expected to take 2 to 3 days. The exact dates and times of closures will be subject to favourable weather conditions.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an aerial baiting program from Saturday 2 May 2026 to Saturday 16 May 2026. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.
The program will take place in Watagans, Popran and Brisbane Water National Parks.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed areas: Unauthorised Muppet Track closed
NPWS has closed the unauthorised Muppet Track in Terrey Hills, Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, to protect an Asset of Intergenerational Significance (AIS) site.
This area contains endangered Grevillea caleyi plants and Duffys Forest Endangered Ecological Community. The track was illegally constructed by recreational users through sensitive bushland.
A small section of the track will remain open to enable access between Terrey Hills and St Ives until a formal alternative can be established.

Part of Piles Creek Loop Walking Track will be closed while rockfall investigations and mitigation works are undertaken.
The closed area is between the suspension bridge and Bundilla Lookout on the western side of Piles Creek.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will be conducting a baiting program using manufactured baits, fresh baits and Canid Pest Ejectors (CPEs) containing 1080 poison (sodium fluroacetate) for the control of foxes. The program is continuous and ongoing between 1 February and 31 July 2026 in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
All baiting locations are identifiable by signs. Don’t touch baits or ejector devices. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Closed areas: Berowra walking track partial closure
Berowra walking track is partially closed from Apple Tree Bay to the Mount Ku-ring-gai access track until further notice. There continues to be a threat of rockfalls and foreshore slumps due to slope instability caused by previous weather events. NPWS is updating detailed assessments to undertake essential repair works.
Berowra walking track from Berowra Station to Mount Ku-ring-gai remains open.
