Closed areas: Bouddi coastal walk closure

Bouddi coastal walk will be closed between Bullimah Beach and Gerrin Point lookout from 7am, Tuesday 4 August 2020 until 4pm, Friday 7 August 2020. The closure is to allow track upgrade works to take place. 

Penalties apply for non-compliance. For more information call the local NPWS office on 02 4320 4200.

There is no public access to Old Wagstaffe trail through private property. Signs show where public access is not permitted.

Closed areas: Warrah Trig Road closed to vehicles

In the interest of public safety, Warrah Trig Road in Brisbane Water National is closed to vehicles. This is due to recent damage to the road surface. Maintenance work is planned to repair the road, pending suitable weather conditions:

  • Signs will be in place around closed areas
  • Pedestrian access is permitted

Closed areas: Changes to Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park precinct closures

Many COVID-19 restrictions have now been lifted from visitor precincts and facilities In Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. However, several tracks and trails will remain closed while upgrades and remediation works are completed. These closures include:

  • Bobbin Head playground
  • The Basin trail
  • The Basin campground and picnic area
  • Mackerel service trail

Berowra track, between Apple Tree Bay and the intersection of Mount Ku-ring-gai track, has now reopened. However if you plan to visit, walk with caution as some sections of the track remain uneven. 

Please remember to practice appropriate social distancing requirements and good hygiene. From Saturday 13 June 2020, the maximum group size for an outdoor gathering will be increasing from 10 to 20 people. Groups are still expected to maintain social distancing. If you arrive at a national park or other public space and it is too crowded to practice social distancing, it is your responsibility to leave the area. Do not wait to be instructed by NPWS staff or police.

The closure of toilets and other facilities will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Necessary site assessments will take place to consider the management of health and safety risk to visitors and staff, and available resourcing to maintain facilities. Access to sanitation products and running water cannot be guaranteed. We recommend bringing hand soap, hand wipes and toilet paper with you to maintain good hygiene as advised by the NSW Government.

If you're visiting the park, please bring a card to pay vehicle entry fees.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will be conducting a baiting program in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park between Saturday 1 August 2020 and Sunday 31 January 2021. The program involves the use of manufactured baits, fresh baits and Canid Pest Ejectors (CPEs) containing 1080 poison (sodium fluroacetate) for the control of foxes.

The operation is continuous and ongoing. Don’t touch baits or ejector devices. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

All baiting locations are will be signposted.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Fox baiting in these reserves is aimed at reducing their impact on threatened species.

Closed areas: Corrumbine Creek fire trail closed for upgrade work

Corrumbine Creek fire trail, between Central Coast Highway and Bambara Road, Kariong, will be closed during upgrade works from Thursday 30 April to Friday 28 August 2020.

Warrimoo walking track is partially closed Mondays to Thursdays from Monday 29 June 2020 until mid November 2020. Essential upgrade works include helicopter operations scheduled for Monday 29 June 2020. The track will be closed from Warrimoo fire trail to the junction of Warrimoo track and Sphinx track.

Sphinx Memorial to Bobbin Head loop track will remain open.
