Closed parks: Wollumbin National Park and State Conservation Area closed

Wollumbin National Park and State Conservation Area are closed to protect the health and safety of our visitors and staff. NPWS is working to reopen all parks where possible, however, some locations need to remain closed to ensure compliance with the current rules on public gatherings.

Some of the best views of Wollumbin can be found along Pinnacle walk and lookout in Border Ranges National Park. You can also try Goorgana walking track or Pholis Gap walking track in nearby Nightcap National Park, or Best of All lookout at Queensland’s Springbrook National Park.

Closed areas: Sheepstation Creek walking tracks

Walking tracks between Sheepstation Creek and Forest Tops campgrounds are currently closed due to a number of fallen trees blocking the track and making access difficult. The affected walking tracks include:

  • Palm Valley walking track
  • Brushbox Falls walking track
  • Rosewood loop track
  • Booyong track 

Please avoid these tracks until NPWS field staff are able to clear the area and make safe.

Closed areas: Cutters Hut closed due to construction works

Cutters Hut within Cutters Camp campground is closed due to construction works. NPWS is currently upgrading Cutters Hut to create a new camp kitchen for visitors as well as completing stage 2 of the campground upgrade. Construction works may cause some noise disturbance to visitors.

Other planned events: Notice of 1080 baiting

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using buried meat baits containing 1080 sodium fluoroacetate poison for the control of wild dogs. The program will be conducted between Tuesday 22 September 2020 and Wednesday 21 October 2020 at Tayling Ridge trail in Border Ranges National Park.

All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected, and 1080 is lethal to cats and dogs. Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

  • Border Ranges National Park is always open but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

  • Park entry fees:

    $8 per vehicle per day. The park uses a self-registration fee collection system at entry. Please bring the correct change and display your receipt.
