Closed areas: Eastern park entrance to Border Ranges National Park closed
The eastern end of the Tweed Range Scenic Drive at Barkers Vale is currently closed due to a landslip affecting part of the road near Bar Mountain. The road is closed between this entrance and the Bar Mountain picnic area. Visitors can only access the Tweed Range Scenic Drive from the western end of the park via Wiangaree.
All other campgrounds, lookouts and picnic areas remain open. The Brindle Creek Loop Road is open. Part of the Brindle Creek walking track is currently closed.

Access to Peacock Creek campground is limited due to road damage and wet weather impacts.
Please note:
- Peacock Creek Road is high clearance 4WD access only due to water over creek crossings
- Iron Pot Creek Road is 4WD access only due to severe road surface damage and gullying
- Sextonville Road has limited 2WD access. Current road conditions are unsuitable for small cars due to erosion and storm damage to the road surface.

Safety alerts: Limited access through Iron Pot Creek Road
Sections of Iron Pot Creek Road through Richmond Range State Forest are in very poor condition and impassable without a high clearance 4WD vehicle. There is no through access to Toonumbar National Park from Richmond Range National Park via Iron Pot Creek Road.
To access Peacock Creek campground, use:
- Sextonville Road from the east
- Peacock Creek Road from the west
- Cambridge Plateau Forest Drive from the Bruxner Highway in the north.
To access Iron Pot Creek campground use Murray Scrub Road via Kyogle only.

Closed parks: Bandahngan Aboriginal Area at Tooloom Falls currently closed
Bandahngan Aboriginal Area at Tooloom Falls is currently closed to visitors. The closure follows concerns raised by the Githabul Aboriginal Community about the site. The impacts of camping along with recent drought has killed many trees within the 2-hectare Aboriginal Area. The closure will allow NPWS to deal with the hazardous trees and work with the Githabul Community on planning for future uses of the area.
Other campground areas are available in Urbenville and Woodenbong, and at Koreelah and Richmond Range National Park.
