The Murrumbidgee River is currently rising. Access to campgrounds and park trails may not be possible. Trails are already wet and have not fully dried following previous flooding. If travelling to the park, please check weather updates and monitor the river height. Please don’t damage trails by driving on them when they're wet. Don’t drive through flood waters. Take care and drive safely.

There is limited access to Swifts Creek Campground via the Cobb Highway due to water being over the road or wet conditions. Access is only available via Porters Creek Road or the River Road, near Picnic Point, Mathoura. Access to River Road is via Picnic Point Road.

A Red Alert (high alert) for blue-green algae has been issued for Yanga Lake near Balranald.
The species of algae are yet to be identified but are potentially toxic and may cause gastroenteritis in humans if consumed and skin and eye irritations after contact.
Regatta Beach picnic area remains open but people should avoid contact with the water. For more information visit WaterNSW website.

Yanga National Park office is currently closed to the public due to COVID-19 restrictions. You can still contact us by phone or email for information.
Visitors can still access the historic Yanga Homestead precinct between 8.30am and 4.30pm daily. A self-guided tour offering exclusive access inside the homestead is available from Balranald Visitor Information Centre or Balranald Caravan Park. Call the visitor information centre on 1800 444 043 for more information.
