Closed areas: Roads closed - Detour required due to water over roads

Several roads have been closed due to localise minor flooding in the Millewa section of Murray Valley National Park and Regional Park.

You can still access the Millewa River Road and Millewa Campgrounds only from the east via Aratula Lane off the Lower River Road at 35.806322 S, 145.344843 E.

All other access points off Millewa Road have been physically closed, including the gate at Fishermans Bend Road and the 'rabbit proof' gate at Toupna Crossing Road.

Closed areas: Road Closures - Murray Valley National & Regional Park

The following areas are closed within Murray Valley National Park and Murray Valley Regional Park until further notice.

The following roads are currently closed:

  • Dudleys Road
  • Tin Hut Road, and
  • Quambies Road

The Tin Hut Firewood Collection area is therefore inaccessible.

Please also note that all campgrounds within the Milllewa Campgrounds: Regional Park and National Park, besides the Cumalong Campgrounds and campgrounds listed under Gulpa Campgrounds: National Park will likely be inaccessible by the 2 August 2025 and closed until November/December 2025 due to flooding occurring in the forest. 

 

Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters. Roads into and throughout the park are / may also be closed. Check Live Traffic NSW. For assistance during severe weather visit the NSW SES website. In life-threatening situations call emergency services on Triple Zero (000).

Some Moira South campgrounds in the Murray Valley National Park have been closed to camping. Areas closed have been sign-posted. Alternative campgrounds are available nearby.

Closed areas: Exchange Road Closed - Murray Valley National Park - Moira

Exchange Road CLOSED.

Recent rain has made this road unsafe and impassable for vehicles and therefore access to the park will be closed via Exchange Road from the 20th June 2025.

Safety alerts: Bridge Closed - Millewa River Road

Millewa River Road is CLOSED from the entrance at Millewa Road intersection to Clay Island Road intersection due to "Black & White" Bridge being unsafe for vehicles.

Please follow signage as penalties do apply.

Other incidents: Murray valley National Park - Toupna Crossing Road - Part Closure from 26 June, 2025.

Access to the Murray valley National Park via Toupna Crossing Road is compromised across Toupna Creek.

 

Murphy's bridge is closed for bridge reconstruction and the causeway is currently closed with unseasonal river flow heights.

 

There is a detour via Toupna Crossing Rd to Fire hut Road. East to Wallaby Road, then south to Millewa River Road.

 

Millewa River Road is unaffected.
