Fire bans: Park fire ban

A park fire ban is in place in this park from Monday 15 October 2018 and remains in place until Sunday 31 March 2019, unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamite) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:

  • They're under direct control of an adult
  • The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)

If a Total Fire Ban is in place, please contact the local park office before using a gas and or electric barbecue or cooker.

A park fire ban is in place in Euston Regional Park, Kemendok National Park, Kemendok Nature Reserve, Mallee Cliffs National Park, Murray Valley Regional Park, Nearie Lake Nature Reserve, and Tarawi Nature Reserve. The ban remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamite) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. An ongoing fox control program is underway in Oolambeyan National Park for the conservation of the critically endangered plains-wanderer.

Ground baiting and canid pest ejectors are active on park. Domestic pets are not permitted on Oolambeyan National Park.
