NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting ongoing aerial and ground baiting programs. Aerial and ground baiting is scheduled from 1 June 2026 to 1 December 2026. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of feral animals.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

The Tara Cave viewing platform is currently closed for repair.
The remainder of the walk remains open to the viewing platform. The Old Woolshed Picnic Area remains open for use.

Ongoing wet weather has impacted the roads in this reserve, leaving them washed out and/or under water for long periods of time. While they have dried out, access trails can still have rough surfaces and require maintenance. Please reduce speed, drive to conditions, and be aware of your surroundings. Heavy plant may be working in the area and care should be taken if you come across them.
