Closed areas: Gunneemooroo campground closed due to wet conditions

Gunneemooroo campground is closed due to wet and boggy access. The campground will re-open at 9am on Monday 2 August 2021, subject to reassessment of the access road conditions.

The Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) will be conducting a baiting program between Thursday 17 June 2021 and Thursday 19 August 2021 in Pilliga State Conservation Area and Pilliga National Park (Gilgai section, south of Dog Proof Fence Road).

The program is for the control of foxes and will involve the use of meat baits and canid pest ejectors containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes. 

All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) carries out continuous 1080 baiting in Warrumbungle National Park for the control of foxes. Meat baits and canid pest ejectors (CPE's) containing 1080 sodium fluoroacetate poison are laid in the park north of Timor Road/John Renshaw Parkway.

All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected, and 1080 is lethal to cats and dogs. Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed areas: Roads closed in Pilliga Forest

Some roads in Pilliga West State Conservation Area and Pilliga West National Park are closed due to subsidence damage. Take care when driving in the area. Please obey all closure notices.
