Closed areas: Rawson Falls Walking Trail closure
Rawson Falls Walking Trail remains closed due to extensive damage caused by the May 2025 major flood event. Sections of the trail are affected by dangerous trees, and a significant landslip has occurred on the track leading to the base of the waterfall.
NPWS crews are currently undertaking repairs, including removing hazardous trees, cleaning up the picnic area, and trimming vegetation along the access road. We anticipate reopening the top section of the walking trail to the lookout platform on Saturday, 22 November.
The section of trail below the lookout will remain closed while planning approvals and procurement are completed to remediate the landslip.

Other planned events: Notice of 1080 Aerial Baiting Program
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an aerial baiting program from 13th October 2025 to 27th October 2025.
The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.
The program will take place in Barakee National Park, Barrakee State Conservation Area, Biriwal Bulga National Park, Bugan Nature Reserve, Ghin-Doo-Ee National Park, Goonook Nature Reserve, Talawahl Nature Reserve, Tapin Tops National Park and Wallamba Nature Reserve.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species and to minimise the impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
