NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting a ground baiting program across Leard State Conservation Area and the Plagyan precinct of Mount Kaputar National Park from Monday 7 September to Thursday 10 September 2026. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of feral pigs.
The program is designed to minimise feral pig impacts on the local ecosystem, and to minimise the impact of feral pigs on neighbouring crops. Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location.
Domestic pets are not permitted on NPWS estate. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

The program will take place in Trinkey State Conservation Area.
The program is designed to minimise the impacts from feral pigs on the environment, heritage sites and neighbouring properties.

Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) is conducting a feral animal trapping and ground shooting program from 18th August to 31st October 2016.
The program will take place across Pilliga State Conservation Area and Pilliga National Park.
The program is being run to reduce the impact of feral animals on native wildlife across these reserves including the feral free predator enclosure managed by AWC.
Closure signs may be installed during operations. Do not enter closed areas when signage is shown. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

The program will be ongoing between 01 August 2026 and 01 February 2026 along management trails in Goonoo State Conservation Area & National Park, Breelong National Park, Cobbora State Conservation Area and Coolbaggie Nature Reserve .
