The Great North Walk will be closed between Rifle Range Fire Trail and Tommos Loop Fire Trail from Monday 4 March to Thursday 28 March while high risk rockfall mitigation works are undertaken.
The closed area includes:

- Myron Brook
- Pedestrian through access from Wondabyne to Patonga
- Pedestrian through access from Somersby to Patonga
The following sections of the Great North Walk will remain open:
- Wondabyne to Somersby (via Scopas Peak)
- Staples Lookout to Patonga via Tommos Loop Fire Trail and Mount Wondabyne

Safety alerts: Major Roadworks in Jilliby State Conservation Area - Commencing 27 December 2023
Major roadworks are scheduled to commence from Wednesday 27th December 2023 in Jilliby State Conservation Area (Southern Precinct) and part of Ourimbah State Forest.
Partial and intermittent road closures should be expected. The roads that will be affected are:
- Red Hill Road
- Prestons Ridge Road
- Bradleys Point Road
- Campbells Point Road and
- Tooheys Road.
Visitors are asked to avoid the area (if possible). Otherwise, please be aware of trucks and machinery using and working on the above roads and to drive to the conditions. Warning signs and traffic control will be in place. Work is expected to be completed by June 2024. The work is funded as part of the Fire Access and Fire Trail (FAFT) program aimed at providing safe and strategic fire trails for fire response and access.

The Big Yango precinct in Yengo National Park including Blue Gums campground, the Yango Loop trail and Yango walking track are closed from Thursday 2 June 2022 to Tuesday 9 April 2024 for repair and maintenance work.

Safety alerts: Watagans National Park part closure for pest control shoot operation
Parts of Watagans National Park will be closed between 1700 (5pm) Monday 11th March 2024 to 0500 (5am) 26th April 2024 for wild dog and fox control ground shoot operations. These operations aim to prevent localised economic impacts and protect Brush-tailed rock-wallabies within the park.
When active, the shoot operation area will be delineated by signage advising visitors "do not enter" during the night-time operation.

The last 850m of Ironbark Road (Crown Road) to access Ironbark picnic area is currently limited to 4WD vehicles only.
This section is not suitable for conventional 2WD vehicles due to a severely eroded hill along the Crown Road.
Visitors to this section of the park travelling by conventional 2WD vehicles will need to walk the last 850 metres to access the park and Ironbark picnic area.

Georges Road in the Watagans NP is temporarily closed from The Narrow Pass Lookout west to the National Park boundary due to extensive road damage. Visitors are reminded to drive to the conditions along Georges Road to the Lookout and not drive past this point. NPWS plans to upgrade this trail ASAP in the new year. The Climbers Walking Track between Gap Creek Camping Area and Bangalow Camping Area is closed due to the recent wildfire. Timber steps and walking track edges have been lost and the track surface is now unstable. It will take some time to repair and make safe. Visitors are asked not to use the track for their own safety. The nearby Gap Creek Waterfall track is open and available to visitors. Gap Creek Forest Walk from the intersection of the Gap Creek Falls Walking Track is closed due to a landslip and unstable rocks above the track. Due to the risk visitors are asked to stay out of the area beyond the current barrier until the area can be made safe. Safety alerts: Watagan Road/Heaton Road closed due to landslips
Watagan Road (also known as Heaton Road) is closed until further notice due to a major landslip on the Cessnock City Council section.
There is no access from the cattle grid at the southern end of Heaton Road, Quorrobolong south, uphill to the Georges Road intersection in the Watagans NP.
This access road to Olney, Heaton State Forests and Watagans National Park is closed.
Work is currently underway way but will be complex, involve geotechnical planning, major earthworks and road realignment.

Somersby Falls picnic area and walking track, including access to the waterfalls will be closed until 30 June 2024 while the picnic area is being upgraded.
