Closed areas: Areas closed for hazard reduction burning

Some parts of this park are closed for hazard reduction burning from Thursday 23 May to Friday 24 May 2024. The closed area/s are:

  • Green Camp carpark
  • Tubaroo Fire Trail
  • Yulludunida walking track

Although Kaputar Road remains open, please slow down, turn on headlights, drive safely and be aware of road conditions. Please note traffic control may be in place during this time and you may experience delays.

Penalties apply for non-compliance. This burn is called Tubaroo Fire Trail HR. For more information, contact the Narrabri NPWS office (02) 6792 7300 or visit the Rural Fire Service website.

Closed areas: Scutts Hut and Kurrawonga Falls CLOSED

Scutts Hut and Kurrawonga Falls walk is CLOSED due to fire trail maintenance, until further notice. 

Visitors can still access the Kaputar Plateau walk via Rocky Plateau and Scutts Hut fire trail loop.

Closed areas: Dawsons Spring campground CLOSED due to upgrades

Dawsons Spring campground will be CLOSED from Monday 20 May until Monday 17 June 2024 due to closure of the amenities block for renovations. 

Dawsons Spring picnic areas and BBQs will remain open.

As an alternative, visitors are encouraged to camp at Bark Hut campground.

This closure may be extended and any extension will be posted as soon as possible.

The Governor (Corrunbral Borawah) summit walking track is closed until further notice due to elevated track damage. 

The Governor lookout walking track (from carpark to lookout platform) remains open.
