Closed areas: Ulidarra National Park road closures

The following roads are closed until at least 31 July 2022:

  • Swans Road
  • Shelter Road

This is due to wet conditions and road damage from severe storms, and because the NSW Forestry Corporation is doing crossing works on Swans Road, preventing access.

This closure may be extended depending on conditions and the progress of repairs.

Closed parks: Parks closed due to flooding - Coffs Area

Most national parks and reserves in the Coffs Coast area are closed until at least Friday 29 July 2022 due to widespread flooding and severe weather as risk assessments and repairs are undertaken. 

Access to hard-roofed accommodation on-park remain open.

Access to campgrounds at Doon Goonge in Chaelundi National Park and Thungutti campgrounds in New England National Park is open.

As parks, roads and other facilities are assessed as safe, they will be reopened. This closure may be extended and any extension will be posted as soon as possible.

Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters. Roads into and throughout the park are / may also be closed. Check Live Traffic NSW for up-to-date information and contact the local park office.

For assistance during severe weather visit the NSW SES website. In life-threatening situations call emergency services on Triple Zero (000).

The following areas are closed until at least 31 July 2022 due to severe wet weather and road damage. Repairs will be undertaken as conditions dry.

  • Langleys Road
  • Urumbilum Creek Road

Bangalore Falls is accessible to 4WD vehicles via Range road.

Aerial Baiting is scheduled for 06/06/2022 to 10/06/2022

 

The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.

The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.

Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

This park is closed from Monday 2 May until Tuesday 2 August 2022, due to widespread damage following rainfall and flooding in early March 2022.

Many creek crossings, roads and trails are closed and impassable due to a severe rainfall event causing dangerous conditions.

Woolgoolga Creek picnic area and Falls walking track are closed until further notice due to road collapse and walking track damage as a result of flooding. 

Geotechnical assessment and design repairs have been completed for the NPWS road sections, and works are scheduled for August-September 2022 as conditions dry.

Yuraygir coastal walk is closed until 23 September 2022 in the following areas due to landslips caused by flood damage:

Closed areas: Suttons road closed due to storm damage

Suttons road is closed to vehicle traffic for safety reasons following a pavement collapse during recent wet weather.  Repairs will be scheduled as conditions dry out. Alternate access is via Granite Pit or McMullens Roads.

Safety alerts: Pebbly Beach and Station Creek campgrounds - 4WD vehicles only

Access to Station Creek and Pebbly Beach campgrounds is currently via Bacoongerie Road only. McPhillips Road is closed.

Pebbly Beach and Station Creek campgrounds are only accessible by high clearance 4WD vehicles. This includes water crossings which can change quickly depending on local rainfall and tidal conditions.

Access to Pebbly Beach and Station Creek campgrounds is dependent on Clarence Valley Council (CVC) and Forestry Corporation road infrastructure.
