Safety alerts: Thredbo Valley track vegetation maintenance works
Contractors will be clearing vegetation for 3 weeks on the Thredbo Valley track between Thredbo Resort and Bullocks Flat from Monday 1 June 2026.
Please follow directions from contractors and signage on site.

Other planned events: Vegetation works on the lower Thredbo Valley track
Vegetation works are being carried out on the lower Thredbo Valley track, just downstream of the Skitube Bridge to Gaden Trout Hatchery. Works will continue from 5 June 2026 for approximately 2 weeks, depending on weather.
This area is currently closed to cyclists, but you can walk along the track. Contractors are aware of walker traffic.

Closed areas: Parts of Kosciuszko National Park closed for aerial shooting operations for feral animal control
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting aerial shooting operations for all feral animals in parts of Kosciuszko National Park between 7am Tuesday 9 June and 7pm Tuesday 30 June 2026.
During this period the areas described below will be closed to the public and all park users. This includes all tracks, trails, campgrounds, huts, picnic areas and accommodation within the closed operational area.

Northern Kosciuszko National Park closed areas:
- Areas to the north-east of the Snowy Mountains Highway and east of the Goobarragandra Powerline Road through to the northern boundary of the park. This includes the Bimberi, Goobarragandra and Bramina Wilderness areas, the northern Kosciuszko High Plains and adjacent areas of park.
- The Australian Alps Walking Track between Guthega Power Station and the NSW/ACT border.
- The National trail between Khancoban and the park boundary east of Mt Morgan.
Central Kosciuszko National Park closed areas:
- Areas south of the Snowy Mountains Highway including the Happy Jacks and Tolbar areas, the Jagungal Wilderness Area and the Gungharlin River camping area.
- The Jagumba, Tooma, Yellow Bog and Dargals areas on the north and south of the Swampy Plains – Tooma – Cabramurra Road.
- The Australian Alps Walking Track between Guthega Power Station and the NSW/ACT border.
- The National Trail between Khancoban and the park boundary east of Mt Morgan.

Closed areas: Thredbo Valley track partial closure
The following sections of the Thredbo Valley Track are closed to cyclists:
- Thredbo Resort to Bullocks Flat
- Muzzlewood track
- Bullocks Flat to Gaden Trout Hatchery.
These sections remain open to walkers, however please take care as soft and slippery surfaces occur.
Thredbo Valley track between Gaden Trout Hatchery and Thredbo River picnic area remains open to cyclists and walkers.
Please continue to check alerts and obey all signage. Follow IMBA Guidelines and don't ride on wet tracks.

Several buildings in the Bullocks Hut complex are closed until further notice for restoration works. Please do not enter the construction sites.
