Closed parks: Wollumbin National Park

Wollumbin National Park is closed due to significant safety issues on the Wollumbin Summit track. The closure will be reviewed in May 2021.

Some of the best views of Wollumbin can be found along Pinnacle walk and lookout in Border Ranges National Park. You can also try Goorgana walking track or Pholis Gap walking track in nearby Nightcap National Park, or Best of All lookout at Queensland’s Springbrook National Park.

Closed areas: Nightcap Range Road closed for road works

Nightcap Range Road in Nightcap National Park and Whian Whian State Conservation Area will be closed for roadworks from Tuesday 6 October to Friday 4 December 2020. The following areas are closed for the duration of the works:

  • Minyon Falls, Minyon Grass and Rummery Park
  • Minyon walking track, Boggy Creek and Peates Mountain walking tracks

Signs will be in place and the road will be closed just north of the Telephone Road trailer carpark.

Protester Falls walking track and Terania Creek picnic area remain open.

Visitors can still access the Telephone Road trailer carpark and multi-use trails via Nightcap Range Road (via Dunoon).

Closed areas: Minyon Drive and Minyon Falls precinct closed

Some parts of this park are closed from Monday 2 November to Friday 18 December 2020, while sections of Minyon Falls precinct are being upgraded.

The closed areas are:

  • Minyon Drive
  • Minyon Falls picnic area
  • Minyon Falls lookout
  • Minyon Grass picnic area
  • Minyon Grass lookout
  • Minyon Loop walking track
  • Boggy Creek track
  • Rummery Park campground
  • Peates Mountain

There is still access to:

  • Telephone Road trailer carpark via Nightcap Range Road (the road is closed north of this area)
  • Terania Creek picnic area and Protestors Falls walking track.
  • The western end of Historic Nightcap track. However, please note you will need to return to Mount Nardi to complete this walk.

Toonumbar National Park is closed until Monday 30 November 2020 for the redevelopment of Iron Pot campground and picnic area. This closure includes Iron Pot Creek picnic area and Murray scrub walking track.
