Closed areas: Horse riding trails closed for safety
Due to ongoing safety and welfare issues surrounding accessibility and water supply the Dthinna Dthinnawan horse riding trails remain closed until further notice.
NPWS are working to address the issues, and will reopen the horse riding trails as soon as it is safe to do so. For further information contact the NPWS Barwon Area Office on 02 6792 7300.

Safety alerts: Construction Works Along Bike Trails
Please be advised scheduled construction works will be underway along the bike trails in Currys Gap State Conservation Area from 25 May 2026 to 30 September 2026.
Work hours are :
- Mon-Fri: 6:00am to 6:00pm
- Saturdays: 6:00am to 1:00pm

Due to maintenance, the Lavender Vale Homestead at Kwiambal National Park will be closed to bookings for the foreseeable future. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Closed areas: Road closure
Some areas of this park are closed until further notice due to the demolition of a bridge from a past flooding event.
The closed areas include the 4WD access to North Washpool, an area also known as Washpool rest area, entering from Baryulgil onto Collum Collum Road. The bridge is washed away at the junction of Washpool Creek and Collum Collum Road.
Please note:
- Washpool National Park’s 2WD entrance off Gwydir Highway onto Coachwood Drive and Washpool Forest Way is open.
- Bellbird campground, Coombadjha campground and the Granites lookout and picnic areas are accessible.

As per the Plan Of Management, Kwiambal NP CCA Zone 1 is closed to public access. This reserve is only accessible via private property and is exempt from public access. This reserve is separate from Kwiambal National Park, which is accessible to the public.

Vehicle access in Boonoo Boonoo NP is restricted to a maximum of 40km/h throughout the park, and some areas with shared pedestrian access are restricted to 10km/h. Gravel roads can become slippery at times, particularly in wet weather, so please exercise caution and adhere to the sign-posted limits.
