Closed areas: Tomaree Head

All high use visitor areas of Tomaree Head, such as the summit, lookouts, the gun emplacements, stairways and picnic tables, are closed from Friday 27 March 2020, until further notice. Public access is not permitted.

Closed areas: Ocean Rocks walking track

Ocean Rocks walking track in Tomaree National Park is closed due to landslide from Thursday 20 February 2020. Signs will be in place around the closed area.

All main visitor areas, including Tomaree Summit walk, will remain open. You can still access Tomaree Head via Tomaree Summit walk.

Penalties apply for non-compliance. For more information, contact the Hunter Coast area office on 02 4984 8200.

Big Rocky trail in Tomaree National Park is closed for routine roadworks, including grading and rolling, until further notice. Signs will be in place at the Gan Gan Road entrance.

Closed areas: Fingal Island spit

The spit located between Tomaree National Park mainland and Fingal Island is closed to pedestrian and vehicle access in the interest of visitor safety.

The conditions at the spit are variable, unpredictable and are subject to change at short notice.
