Closed areas: Boardwalk section of Mungo track temporarily closed

The section of track between Tamboi trail and Brambles Green campground is temporarily closed from January 2021 until further notice due to damaged boardwalk. Tamboi trail remains open.

To access Brambles Green campground, please use Brambles Green trail. For further information please call the NPWS Manning Great Lakes area office on 02 6591 0300.

Closed areas: Fingal Island access trail and Point Stephens Lighthouse - closed to vehicles

The Fingal Island access trail and Point Stephens Lighthouse are closed to vehicles.

The sea conditions at the spit are variable, unpredictable and subject to change at short notice. People have drowned attempting to cross the Fingal Spit, and even at low tides the spit can be impacted by fast-moving water.

Closed areas: Ocean Rocks walking track

Ocean Rocks walking track in Tomaree National Park is closed due to landslide from Thursday 20 February 2020. Signs will be in place around the closed area.

All main visitor areas, including Tomaree Summit walk, will remain open. You can still access Tomaree Head via Tomaree Summit walk.

Park info

  • in Myall Lakes National Park in the North Coast region
  • Myall Lakes National Park is always open but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

  • Park entry fees:

    $8 per vehicle per day.

    The park has coin/card operated pay and display machines at Mungo Brush campground. NPWS visitor service officers regularly visit camping areas to collect fees from campers and sell annual passes. Day passes and annual passes also available from the Great Lakes Area Office, Bulahdelah and Tea Gardens Visitor Information Centres, and other local outlets.

    Bombah Point ferry fees may also apply (cash payment only).
