Notice of Poison 1080 baiting – wild dog and fox management using approved aerial and ground control techniques.
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) Kanangra Area will be conducting strategic baiting program using meat, manufactured products and Canid Pest Ejectors (CPE’s) containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of Wild dogs and Foxes. The program will be continuous and ongoing from 27 July to 31 December 2020 in, Abercrombie NP & SCA, Gardens of Stone NP, Wollemi NP, Blue Mountains NP, Turon NP, Marrangaroo NP, Mares Forest NP, Kanangra-Boyd, Jenolan KCA.
These programs have been designed to meet NPWS priority conservation and State focused Biosecurity issues.
All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.
Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
