Tree maintenance works will take place from Monday 11 December 2023 to Friday 15 December 2023 in the following campgrounds and visitor areas:
- Moyangul/Pinch River picnic area and campground
- Nine Mile campground
- Running Waters campground
- Willis campground and picnic area
The tree remediation works will minimise the risks of hazardous trees. Exclusion areas will be established prior to and during the works. Please avoid these areas.

Closed areas: Pilot and Byadbo Wilderness Areas closed for feral animal control
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will be undertaking aerial shooting operations in the Pilot and Byadbo Wilderness Areas between Monday 11 December and Friday 22 December 2023.
The Australian Alps Walking Track and the Pilot Wilderness mountain bike ride will remain open for the duration of the program. Trail users must stay on the trail.
Closure notices will be placed at relevant access points into Kosciuszko National Park. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Other planned events: Notice of ongoing 1080 baiting
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. The program will be continuous and ongoing between Thursday 10 August 2023 and Thursday 8 February 2024. These programs are part of an integrated pest animal control strategy, aimed at minimising the impacts of these animals on neighbouring stock.
Baiting programs will be conducted in Thredbo/Ingebyra, Dalgety/Paupong and Corrowong/Tombong/Merriangaah Wild Dog Plan Areas. Baiting programs will also be undertaken in Paupong, Merriangaah and Quidong Nature Reserves.
This includes the following sections of Kosciuszko National Park:
- Thredbo Valley
- Moonbah
- Ingebyra
- Paupong
- Numbla Vale
- Corrowong
All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.
Please be reminded that domestic pets are not permitted on NPWS Estate. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
