Fire bans: Solid fuel fire ban
A park fire ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:
- They're under direct control of an adult
- The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
- There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)
If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the local park office before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker.

Closed areas: Murray Valley NP - Millewa precinct - south of Tocumwal Road - CLOSED
The Millewa precinct south of the Tocumwal Road will be closed to all traffic due to road and infrastructure works taking place. This area will remain closed until 1st April 2026. Other campgrounds north of the Tocumwal Road and within the Gulpa Island and Moira precincts, north and south will remain open. Other planned events: Notice of use of Hoggone meSN Feral Pig Bait from 3 September 2025 - South West Woodlands Nature Reserve - Coradgery
Due to a large number of feral pigs causing impacts the Reserve, and to meet NPWS's General Biosecurity Duty, (GBD), under the Biosecurity Act, NPWS will be using Hoggone to control feral pigs.
NPWS pesticides trained staff will be using a new control product to lessen the impacts caused by feral pigs in SWWNR - Coradgery Precinct.
HOGGONE will be used on this Reserve, and the product is a peanut based product with Sodium nitrite as the poison.
This product is very effective on controlling feral pigs and when used carefully has few off-target impacts.
NPWS staff will be monitoring the success of the program and have allowed a 12 week window to undertake several 9 day programs.

Safety alerts: Potential for Unexploded Ordinances in Livingstone National Park
There is a Substantial risk of unexploded ordinances (UXO) within Livingstone National Park.
There is signage erected at all entrances to the risk area.
If you are driving, bushwalking or mountain biking in the area, you must keep to the formed trails within the UXO risk area. No camping or digging of any kind is permitted within the risk area.
