Closed parks: Watagans National Park closed due to landslips and road damage
Watagan National Park Forest Road is temporarily closed from the junction of Bowmans Road, restricting access to Watagan National Park and Heaton State Forest. This is due to unsafe road conditions following high rainfall and landslips. The following visitor areas will not be accessible during the closure:
- Boarding House Dam
- Gap Creek
- Monkey Face lookout
- Georges Road lookouts
- Heaton lookout
- Taylors Road lookout
- Watagan Forest Headquarters Camping Area
- Macleans lookout
- Hunters lookout
Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters or flood affected areas, so you’ll need to reschedule your visit and avoid travel through areas in this park.
For assistance during severe weather visit the NSW SES website. In life-threatening situations call emergency services on Triple Zero (000).
