Due to ongoing wet weather the Mungo Self guided Drive Tour road is currently closed at Red Top lookout.
There are sections of the road under water and not safe to open.

Council-managed access roads to Mungo National Park are unsealed and in variable condition. Before travelling on any unsealed roads, please check road condition reports for Balranald, Wentworth and Central Darling Shires. Do not travel on closed Council roads.
There are numerous access routes to Mungo National Park and conditions can change quickly due to the weather.

Please be advised that the Mungo Meeting Place and Viewing Platform at Mungo Visitors Centre will be closed from Monday 15 June to Friday 26 June 2026.
This is to allow contractors to undertake the renewal of the pavement surface.
No access will be permitted into this area - signage and fencing will be in place.
