Closed areas: Rockface Road and Gilwah trail closed

Rockface Road and Gilwah trail in Mount Jerusalem National Park will be closed from Tuesday 25 November to Friday 19 December 2025.

NPWS will be conducting road maintenance on Gilwah Trail via Rockface Road. The works are to improve road stability and improve access for firefighting, maintenance, and hazard reduction activities.

Closed areas: Mebbin Forest Road closed for Bridge Repair Work on 02/12/25

Mebbin Forest Road access into Mebbin National Park will be closed on Tuesday 2 December 2025 between 8am and 4pm for Bridge repair work. 

  • You can still access the park via Cadell Road off Kyogle Road from the south
  • All main visitor areas will remain open
  • Cutters Camp campground and Byrrill Creek Walking Track will remain open
  • Signs will be in place around closed areas

Other planned events: Changed access to walking tracks due to flood restoration

Please travel via Uki using Rowlands Creek and Manns Roads to access the following locations:

  • Mount Jerusalem Central trails
  • Unicorn Falls walking track
  • Whiskey Creek walk 
  • Gidjuum Gulganyi walk

Byron Shire Council is currently undertaking flood restoration works within the Main Arm valley, expected to be completed by early 2026.

These works include the restoration and repair of culverts and causeways along Main Arm Road, which is the main vehicle access to Mount Jerusalem National Park when approaching from Mullumbimby. Byron Shire Council have advised that Main Arm Road should only be used by local traffic.

Closed areas: Nightcap Range Road closed in both directions

Nightcap Range Road is closed to traffic in both directions due to a major landslip associated with the 2022 flood event. The closure affects the section of Nightcap Range Road between Rummery Road intersection and Telephone Road trailer parking area.

Access to Minyon Falls and Rummery Park is via Minyon Falls Road only.

Closed areas: Wollumbin (Mount Warning) summit track and summit

Wollumbin (Mount Warning) summit track and the summit are closed until further notice. Parking at Korrumbyn Creek and Breakfast Creek is limited.

Korrumbyn Creek picnic area, Lyrebird walking track, and visitor facilities at Breakfast Creek remain open.

  • Wollumbin National Park is open, but may have to close at times due to perceived risk. The gate on Mount Warning Road entrance may also be closed from 5pm in winter and 6pm in summer (during daylight savings) and will reopen at 7am the following morning.
