Closed areas: Undercliff walking track closed

The section of Undercliff walking track between Princes Rock walking track and Den Fenella walking track is closed due to footbridge replacement. This track will remain closed unless the closure is otherwise extended or removed.

Closed areas: Amphitheatre track closed - Leura Cascades

Amphitheatre track is closed due to recent rockfalls, including the track from Leura Cascades round walk to Fern Bower. The closed areas are:

  • Access to the base of Bridal Veil Falls from Leura Cascades
  • Access to Leura Forest from Leura Cascades
  • the circuit route via Fern Bower and Prince Henry cliff walk

While the rock fall area is assessed, we advise visitors to access valley tracks via Fern Bower track.

Closed areas: Murphys campground closed

Bedford Road and Murphys Glen campground are closed to vehicles at the entrance gate due to deteriorating road conditions and non-operational toilets. Cyclists and walkers are permitted but advised not to camp.

Closed areas: Lawson Ridge fire trail closed

Lawson Ridge fire trail, and all walking tracks and trails in this area of the park, are closed until further notice. This is due to hazard reduction burning and dangerous trees. This closure may last several weeks and any extension will be posted as soon as possible.

Other planned events: 1080 wild dog baiting program

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will be undertaking a wild dog and fox control program in Parr State Conservation Area. Canid Pest Ejectors will be laid from Monday 30 April to Wednesday 30 October 2019. Do not touch baits or ejector devices.

1080 poison is lethal to dogs and cats. Park visitors and neighbours are reminded that domestic animals are not permitted in national parks or nature reserves at any time. It is recommended that you tie your dogs up during this time if they like to roam. If you suspect your domestic dog has been in the park and triggered an ejector, take them to a vet immediately. Warning signs will be displayed to notify park visitors.

A 1080 wild dog ground baiting program will occur from Friday 12 April to Friday 10 May 2019. This program will be carried out in the Mount Werong / Jerrong area of Blue Mountains National Park on:

  • Middle Werong fire trail
  • Lower Werong fire trail
  • Mount Werong fire trail  

A reminder that domestic pets are not allowed in reserves managed by NSW National Parks and that 1080 is harmful to domestic pets.

Closed areas: Ingar campground closed

Ingar campground and Ingar Road are closed to vehicle access due to private property building works. The closure is indefinite because it relates to access through the private property. No opening date can be advised. NPWS apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Ingar Road and Ingar campground can still be accessed by walkers and cyclists.

Closed areas: Prince Henry Cliff walking track - between Leura Cascades and Solitary restaurant 

Prince Henry Cliff walking track is closed between Leura Cascades and Solitary restaurant until further notice. This closure is due to a landslide that has completely blocked the track. An alternative track is available via Leura Cascades Round Walk. Visitors can also walk from Leura Cascades to Solitary restaurant adjacent Cliff Drive but should be wary of traffic.

A section of Batsh camp is closed due to the risk of tree branches falling. Further assessment and removal of dangerous branches will take place in the coming weeks. Penalties apply for non-compliance. Closed areas: National Pass closed

National Pass remains closed between Valley of Waters and Slacks Stairs. The closure is indefinite following a serious rockfall in November 2017 which killed a worker and seriously injured two others. The area of the rockfall remains dangerous and the subject of external investigation. The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is reviewing how such geological hazards and visitor access can be managed.
