Closed areas: Areas closed for weed spraying

The following walking tracks in Kattang Nature Reserve will be closed on Thursday 30 June for weed spraying operations:

  • The eastern end of the Point Perpendicular track past the intersection with Pebbly Beach track
  • Pebbly Beach track 
  • Fishermans Bluff track
  • Charles Hamey Lookout track

The Flowerbowl Circuit track will remain open.

Safety alerts: Access to Bird Tree Picnic Area - 4WD only

Access to Bird Tree Picnic Area is currently affected by a landslip on Grey Gum Ridge Road, and wet conditions due to ongoing recent rainfall. It is not suitable for 2WD access. 

4WDs can access Bird Tree Picnic Area by using Haydons Road off the Pacific Highway, which then joins Stoney Creek Trail and Grey Gum Ridge Road to access the picnic area from the north. There is no access on Grey Gum Ridge Road south of Bird Tree Picnic Area (towards the towers) due to a significant land slip.

Safety alerts: Be cautious on tracks and surfaces

Erosion and surface damages are present on walking tracks, road surfaces and managed areas across national parks of the Hastings Macleay Area following significant and prolonged rainfall events. Remediation works are scheduled as weather permits. Please take care and be aware of the conditions when visiting these national parks.
