Closed areas: Upper Wonga Walk closed for track upgrades

The upper section of the Wonga Walk from the Lyrebird Link intersection to the Glade (Including Walk with the birds) is closed for track upgrade works from Thursday 15 July to Friday 1 October 2021.

Access to Crystal Shower Falls and Tristania Falls and the Glade will still be available with a return loop via the Dome Rd

Other planned events: Notice of 1080 baiting

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using buried meat bait products containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes. It will be ongoing between Tuesday 17 August 2021 and Monday 28 February 2022 in Bongil Bongil National Park. The program is being undertaken to protect threatened shorebirds.

All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
