Closed areas: Visitor areas closed for ground pest control operations
The following visitor areas, including surrounding forested areas and beaches, in Mimosa Rocks National Park will be closed each day from 5pm to 9am the following day. These closures are in place from Monday 7 September to Friday 25 September 2020 for a ground pest control operation.
The closed areas are:
- Middle Beach campground
- Middle Beach
- Middle Lagoon walking track
- Middle Beach to Bithry Inlet walking track
- Birthy Inlet picnic area
- Bithry Inlet Beach
- Penders area - walking tracks and beaches
- Myer House area - walking tracks/roads
- Picnic Point - beaches
- Aragunnu - beaches
This program will target pest animals, primarily foxes. It aims to reduce the significant impact they have on native animals, including threatened shorebird species.
For safety reasons, do not to enter the closed areas. Signs will be erected on the access to closed areas. Penalties apply for non-compliance. For more information, call the NPWS Narooma area office on 02 4476 0800.
