Safety alerts: Fire ban - Middle Beach campground

For visitor safety, campfires and solid fuel fires (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamite) are not permitted at Middle Beach campground or picnic area.

The use of gas-fired, liquid fuel and electrical appliances will be permitted where:

  • The appliance is under the direct control of an adult
  • The appliance is placed or located in an area where there is no combustible material within 2m
  • There is an adequate water supply to extinguish fire, should it start next to the appliances
  • It is not a Total Fire Ban.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a continuous and ongoing baiting program from Thursday 5 May 2022 to Friday 4 November 2022 in Bournda National Park and Bournda Nature Reserve.

The program will use manufactured, fresh meat and canid pest ejector’s containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes. The program will be

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting a baiting program using fresh meat, manufactured baits and CPEs containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. The program will be ongoing and continuous from Monday 16 May to Friday 17 October 2022.

The baited parks and reserves include:

  • South East Forests National Park
  • Coolumbooka Nature Reserve
  • Bondi Gulf Nature Reserve
  • Wadbilliga National Park

There will be signs at the entry to all baiting locations.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs in the vicinity must be restrained or muzzled and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Kanoonah Road in Coolangubra section of South East Forests National Park is closed from Myanba Falls Road through to the northern park boundary due to a major landslip following recent heavy rainfall.

Due to recent high rainfall and storm damage, Tuross Falls road is currently not suitable for 2WD vehicles. 4WD access only for:

  • Cascades walking track and viewing platform

Safety alerts: Mumbulla Creek Road - Access restricted

The section of the Mumbulla Creek Road road within 500m of the Dr George Mountain Road intersection has become boggy from water saturation and may become temporarily impassable to some vehicles. 

Residents should drive with care, follow onsite directional signs and where possible, minimise use of the road during this time whilst urgent repairs to maintain access are being carried out.

Large or heavy vehicles should not use this road at this time. Visitors should avoid this area until the road dries out and road repairs are completed. Please note that Biamanga Cultural Area (Mumbula Creek Falls) is closed. Please do not not drive on Mumbulla Creek Road in an attempt to access a closed area.
