Other planned events: Goobang NP - Spring Gully Hazard Reduction Burn
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, together with the NSW Rural Fire Service, intend to conduct the Spring Gully Hazard Reduction Burn in Goobang National Park. The burn is 1443ha.
Subject to prevailing weather and fireground conditions this burn is expected to take place in late April to May 2026.
The proposed burn aims to enhance the conservation and biodiversity values within the National Park by maintaining the floristic and structural diversity of vegetation communities; and help mitigate the risk of wildfire on park neighbours by reducing the overall fuel hazard in this area.
The goal is to reduce ground and shrub fuel by 60 - 80% over the burn area in a mosaic pattern with a specific objective of reducing the fuels in the location.

Safety alerts: Reduce speed and drive to conditions
Ongoing wet weather has impacted the roads in this reserve, leaving them washed out and/or under water for long periods of time. While they have dried out, access trails can still have rough surfaces and require maintenance. Please reduce speed, drive to conditions, and be aware of your surroundings. Heavy plant may be working in the area and care should be taken if you come across them.
