Safety alerts: Variable condition of unsealed Council access roads

Council-managed access roads to Mungo National Park are unsealed and in variable condition. Before travelling on any unsealed roads, please check road condition reports for Balranald, Wentworth and Central Darling Shires. Do not travel on closed Council roads.

Safety alerts: Mungo NP - Road Works

Road works have commenced on the Walls Road from the Visitors Centre to the Walls of China car park.  While the road will remain open, please adhere to the signage and be aware of trucks and machinery operating in the area.

The Mungo lakebed (bike) trail is closed.

The dual walking track and bike trail from Mungo Visitor Centre to Zanci Woolshed remains open.

  • in Mungo National Park in the Murray-Riverina region
  • Mungo National Park is always open but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

  • Park entry fees: 

    $8 per vehicle per day. Fees are payable through self-registration envelopes outside Mungo Visitor Centre. Different fees apply for commercial tour operators and vehicles with 8 seats or more.
