Safety alerts: Predicted wet weather - Access may be affected

Significant rainfall is predicted for the NSW Lower Western area including Mungo National Park from Thursday 6 August to Monday 10 August 2020. This may affect access roads to and within the park. For road condition reports please check the Wentworth Shire Council, Balranald Shire Council and Central Darling Shire Council websites.

Mungo Shearers' Quarters are closed until further notice. NPWS are conducting risk assessments at each location before reopening to ensure the health and safety of our visitors and staff. There is no date for reopening and we ask our visitors to be patient with the process.

  • in Mungo National Park in the Murray-Riverina region
  • Mungo National Park is always open but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

  • Park entry fees: $8 per vehicle per day. Fees are payable through self-registration envelopes outside Mungo Visitor Centre. Different fees apply for commercial tour operators and vehicles with 8 seats or more.
