Other planned events: 1080 pest management

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is doing 1080 ground baiting of wild dogs and foxes in Lake Innes Nature Reserve, Lake Innes State Conservation Area, Innes Ruins Historic Site and Queens Lake State Conservation Area.

This baiting program will run from Monday 30 December 2019 to Friday 28 February 2020. It will reduce the impacts of pest animals on wildlife and threatened species in the park after the bushfires.

There will be 1080 baiting signs at the entrance to baiting areas. Don’t touch baits. Some baits may be buried. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Domestic pets, including dogs, are not permitted in national parks or reserves. 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) baits are lethal to domestic dogs and cats. In the event of accidental poisoning, seek immediate veterinary assistance.

For more information, contact the local park office on 02 6588 5555 or 1300 072 757 after hours.
