Closed areas: Barooga precinct closed

The Barooga precinct in Murray Valley Regional Park is currently closed due to Covid-19. There are border closures in place and limited access to the precinct. Camping is currently not permitted at the following campgrounds:

  • Town Beach 
  • Dunns Beach 
  • Micks Beach, and 
  • 1904 Beach

 Ski Beach day use area is also inaccessible. For more information, contact the local area office on 03 5483 9100.

Closed areas: Moira precinct - no vehicle access to Dora firewood collection area

The Dora firewood collection area within Moira Precinct has no vehicle access due to wet weather. The following roads are currently closed:

  • Intersection of Algeboia Road and Dora Road 
  • Intersection of Algeboia Road and Barmah-River Road
  • Moira-Creek Road
  • Algeboia Road

Closed areas: Millewa precinct - Road and campground closures

The intersection at Millewa-River Road and Fire Hut Road has been closed due to water over the road and for general maintenance purposes. Due to this closure, Scotts Beach and Paradise Beach campgrounds are closed for camping.

Ellerslie Nature Reserve is closed due to safety risk to visitors from fire-affected dangerous trees and damaged infrastructure. Do not enter the park. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Other planned events: Notice of ongoing 1080 wild dog and fox baiting program

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using meat baits and canid pest ejectors containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dog and foxes. The program will be continuous and ongoing between Tuesday 12 May and Thursday 12 November 2020 in the following parks and reserves:

  • Bogandyera Nature Reserve
  • Jingellic Nature Reserve
  • Clarkes Hill Nature Reserve
  • The southern Precinct of Kosciuszko National Park

All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed areas: Woomargama National Park - eastern end closed

The eastern section of Woomargama National Park is closed. The closure is due to the Green Valley bushfire which has resulted in damage to trails and fallen trees. This closed area includes:

  • All areas east of Tin Mines campground through to Lankeys Creek and Jingelic Road
  • Tin Mines trail east of the campsite
  • Philis trail
  • Cockatoo Creek trail
  • Mandaring trail
  • Mathewsons trail
  • Millers trail and any other trails into the reserves which enter via Lankeys Creek or the River road

Tin Mines and Samual Bollard campsites are still open and can be accessed by the Tin Mines trail off Tunnel road, Woomargama.

Please do not enter the closed area. Penalties apply for non-compliance. For more information, contact the local NPWS office or visit the Rural Fire Service website.
