Closed areas: Campgrounds closed

All campgrounds in this park are closed from midnight on Thursday 26 March 2020 until further notice to protect the health and safety of our visitors and staff. All camping and group gatherings are not permitted. Some park vehicle access gates may be closed.

All barbecue facilities have also been closed until further notice. The parks are open for exercise for people who live in the local neighbourhood.

Coach and Horses campground is closed due to rain. The access road from Wilcannia to Tilpa (east side) is currently closed. For further information call the NPWS Broken Hill office on 08 8084 2880.

Fire bans: Solid fuel fire ban

There is a 'no solid fuel fire policy' in this park all year round. This park fire ban will remain in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamite) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:

  • They're under direct control of an adult
  • The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)
