Closed areas: Kinchega National Park is open to the Woolshed Precinct and accommodation.

Kinchega National Park is open to the Woolshed Precinct allowing access to the hard roofed accommodation and to the Historic Woolshed.   Emu Lake campground and Cawndilla campground are now both open for booking. The Kinchega Homestead Ruins and cemetery are also accessible.   Riverdrive campgrounds and Tandou Road remain closed until further notice.   This closure will be updated as conditions change.   For further information please contact the Broken Hill National Parks on 08 8084 2880.

Mutawintji National Park is closed from 8:00am Monday 2 March. Roads into and throughout the park are closed due to flooding and slippery surfaces. This closure includes:

• Mutawintji National Park
• Mutawintji Historic Site
• Mutawintji Nature Reserve
• Mutawintji State Conservation Area (Nuntherungie)

This closure will remain in effect until local road conditions change. Check Live Traffic NSW for up-to-date information.

Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters.

Fire bans: Kinchega National Park Total Fire Ban

A park fire ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:

• They're under direct control of an adult
• The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
• There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)

If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the local park office before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker.
