Thredbo Valley Track and surrounding areas will be closed and inaccessible from Friday 3 February to Sunday 5 February 2023 due to an event.

On Friday 3 February 2023, from 07:30 am to 11:30 am, the following tracks will be closed:

  • Thredbo Valley Track between Thredbo Resort and Lake Crackenback Resort.
  • Muzzlewood Track.

Bullocks Track will remain open for out and back use from Thredbo Diggings campground toward Bullocks Flat, however there will be no access beyond the junction with the Bundilla Accessible Track.

Escorted access will be available from Skitube Carpark D to the Skitube Railway Bridge, however minor delays are likely to be experienced.

 

On Saturday 4 February 2023, from 08:00 am to 02:00 pm, the following tracks will be closed:

  • Thredbo Valley Track between Thredbo Resort and Gaden Trout Hatchery.

Muzzlewood Track will remain open for use between Thredbo Diggings campground and the track head at Skitube Carpark D.

Bullocks Track will remain open for out and back use from Thredbo Diggings campground toward Bullocks Flat, however there will be no access beyond the junction with the Bundilla Accessible Track.

 

On Sunday 5 February 2023, from 07:30 am to 12:30 pm, the following tracks will be closed:

  • Thredbo Valley Track between Thredbo Diggings Campground and Lake Crackenback Resort.
  • Muzzlewood Track.

Bullocks Track will remain open for out and back walking from Thredbo Diggings campground, but there will be no access beyond the junction with the Bundilla Accessible Track.

Escorted access will be available from Skitube Carpark D to the Skitube Railway Bridge, however minor delays are likely to be experienced.

Thredbo Valley track, Pallaibo Walking Track and surrounding areas will be closed or inaccessible from Friday 24 February to Sunday 26 February 2023.

On Friday 24 February 2023:

From 06:00 am to 11:45 am, the following tracks will be closed:

  • Pallaibo Walk.
  • Thredbo Valley track, between Bullocks Flat and Gaden Trout Hatchery.

From 08:00 am to 06:30 pm, the following tracks will be closed:

  • Thredbo Valley track, between Bullocks Flat and Friday Flat.

Bullocks Track will remain open for out and back walking out of Thredbo Diggings campground, but there will be no access beyond the junction with the Bundilla Accessible Track.

Escorted access will be available from Skitube Carpark D to the Skitube Railway Bridge, however minor delays are likely to be experienced.

 

On Saturday 25 February 2023, from 07:00 am to 01:30 pm, the following areas will be closed:

  • Thredbo Valley track between Ngarigo Campground and Lake Crackenback Resort.
  • Muzzlewood track.

Bullocks Track will remain open for out and back walking out of Thredbo Diggings campground, but there will be no access beyond the junction with the Bundilla Accessible Track.

Escorted access will be available from Skitube Carpark D to the Skitube Railway Bridge, however minor delays are likely to be experienced.

 

On Sunday 26 February 2023, from 08:00 am to 12:30 pm, the following tracks will be closed:

  • Thredbo Valley track, between Thredbo Diggings campground and Lake Crackenback Resort.
  • Muzzlewood track.

Bullocks Track will remain open for out and back walking out of Thredbo Diggings campground, but there will be no access beyond the junction with the Bundilla Accessible Track.

Escorted access will be available from Skitube Carpark D to the Skitube Railway Bridge, however minor delays are likely to be experienced.

Park info

  • in the Thredbo-Perisher area of Kosciuszko National Park in the Snowy Mountains region
  • The Thredbo-Perisher area is open all year, but some roads and trails may close due to weather conditions or park management issues. Kosciuszko Road is closed between Perisher and Charlotte Pass in winter (June to October long weekends).
  • Park entry fees apply on Alpine Way and Kosciuszko Road

    Winter (June to October long weekends): $29 per vehicle per day (24hrs from purchase); motorcycles $12; bus passengers $11.45 per adult, $3.60 per child per day. Find out more about the winter entry surcharge.

    Rest of Year: $17 per vehicle per day (24hrs); motorcycles $7; bus passengers $6.60 per adult, $2.20 per child per day.

    Passes: Day passes, multi-day passes and annual All Parks Pass available from NPWS visitor centres, local agents and operating vehicle entry stations. Read our Annual Pass FAQs for information.
