Other planned events: Aerial 1080 Baiting Program
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting an aerial 1080 baiting program using meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. The program will be taking place between Monday 7 September 2026 and Sunday 13 September 2026 in the following parks and conservation areas:
- Goonoo National Park
- Goonoo State Conservation Area
- Breelong National Park
- Cobbora State Conservation Area
- Coolbaggie Nature Reserve
All baiting locations will be signposted.
Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Other planned events: Ongoing Poison 1080 ground baiting program for wild dog and fox control
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a ground baiting program using Canid Pest Ejectors (CPE) that contain 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes.
The program will be ongoing between 01 August 2026 and 01 February 2026 along management trails in Goonoo State Conservation Area & National Park, Breelong National Park, Cobbora State Conservation Area and Coolbaggie Nature Reserve .
Readily identifiable 1080 poison signs have been positioned at trail entry points or trail junctions throughout the reserve.
Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs should be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Safety alerts: Reduce speed and drive to conditions
As a result of wet weather in the area, some roads and trails have become impacted, leaving them washed out and/or under water for long periods of time. While they have dried out, access trails can still have rough surfaces and require maintenance. Please reduce speed, drive to conditions, and be aware of your surroundings. NPWS and contractor heavy plant and equipment may be working in the areas, and care should be taken if you come across them.
