Red Point Road in Jervis Bay National Park is closed for road maintenance from Monday 14 September to Friday 18 September 2020.

Beach access from Bull Hole lookout is closed due to a dangerous drop off from the path to the beach. This closure will remain in place until maintenance works are completed. Any extension will be posted as soon as possible. Penalties apply for non-compliance. NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting a pest management program using ground baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. The program will take place from Monday 27 April 2020 to Sunday 20 December 2020 in the following parks and reserves:

  • Woollamia Nature Reserve
  • Jervis Bay National Park
  • Conjola National Park
  • Narrawallee Creek Nature Reserve
  • Meroo National Park
  • Murramarang National Park

All baiting locations will be signposted.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using fresh meat, manufactured baits and CPE’s containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs. The program will be ongoing and continuous from Tuesday 5 May 2020 to Thursday 5 November 2020. The baited parks and reserves include:

  • Morton National Park
  • Conjola National Park
  • Murramarang National Pak
  • Bimberamala National Park
  • Bees Nest Nature Reserve
  • Budawang National Park
  • Parma Creek Nature Reserve
  • Jerrawangala National Park
  • Colymea State Conservation Area

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is conducting a 1080 ground baiting operation targeting foxes from Monday 4 May to Monday 30 November 2020. This is to reduce the impacts on threatened shorebird species, especially during the breeding season. Baits are buried and tethered.

The operation will happen in Seven Mile Beach National Park and Comerong Island Nature Reserve. Baits are placed only on NPWS estate and more than 150m from habitation.

1080 baiting signs are located at the entrance to the national park and reserve and near baiting areas. Do not touch the baits or tethers.

1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) is lethal to pets (including domestic dogs and cats). In the event of accidental poisoning, seek immediate veterinary assistance. Domestic pets, including dogs and cats, are not permitted in national parks or nature reserves. Restrain assistance dogs to ensure they do not enter the baiting areas.
