Closed areas: Campgrounds closed until further notice. All camping is prohibited.

All campgrounds across NSW are closed until further notice to protect the health and safety of our visitors and staff.  This includes all types camping such as in cars, tents, caravans and motorhomes.  Penalties apply for non-compliance. Please check our COVID-19 update for more information.

Closed areas: Partial park closure - Mine remediation project

Some parts of this park will be closed from Tuesday 24 March 2020 until further notice while the mine remediation project (and related safety works) is being implemented.

The closed areas are:

  • Central Mines trail (north from the Summer Hill Creek crossing to the reserve boundary gate) 
  • Ostini trail (from the junction with Summer Hill Creek trail south to the Summer Hill Creek crossing - excludes the western end of Water Race walking track 

Appropriate signs and barriers will be installed along these trails. Fourth crossing picnic area, Water Race walking track and The Falls lookout will remain open.

Penalties apply for non-compliance. For more information, contact the local NPWS office.
