Aerial baiting is scheduled for 21/08/2023 to 25/08/2023
The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Access to Kosekai Lookout is currently NOT possible via Hanging Rock Road due to a section of Hanging Rock Road being damaged during March 2021 flooding event. The damaged section of road is managed by Forestry Corporation. Access to the lookout is now only possible in 4WD vehicles from the south via Boat Harbour Road and then turning onto Kosekai Road

The operations will use a combination of manufactured and meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs. Signs will be placed at the entry to all the baiting locations. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting locations. The Upper Ebor Falls precinct is closed with construction works to be completed over this Summer.
The Lower Ebor Falls picnic area and toilets will remain open, however no views of the Falls will be possible due to barriers required to ensure public safety during platform construction. NPWS appreciates patience and understanding at this time while the work is carried out.
If visitors are seeking certainty with wishing to view the Falls it is recommended to delay visiting until the construction phase is completed with updates appearing on the public website.
Additional public toilets are located on the eastern side of Waterfall Way at Ebor Sports ground.
Please do not enter construction areas and follow all signage or directions from staff and contractors.

The bridge on Slees road on the boundary of Viewmont State Forest and Bollanolla Nature Reserve has been severely impacted by the 2022 floods and is not currently trafficable.
It is not safe to cross and road closure signs have been put in place. Replacement has been scheduled.

The access road to Overshot Dam and surrounds will be closed from Monday 28 August to Monday 2 October 2023 while the dam spillway is re-engineered to address the ongoing seepage through the heritage protected dam wall and prevent future dam wall failure. Access to the Smoky Cape Range Walking Track will still be available via the connecting track at the southern end of the Overshot Dam

Access to Mermaid Pools is permanently closed including for swimming. Sudden large swells and tides create major waves that wash over the rocks and pools.
Do not access this area. The severe conditions at this site have caused a number of significant injuries and deaths in the past.
Mermaid Pools have never been a designated visitor site due to the extreme nature of the surf and tides at this location. There is no approved public access walking track to Mermaid Pools.
