Safety alerts: Potential closure on busy days due to increased visitation
Munmorah State Conservation Area can be extremely busy over the summer holiday period. This may require temporary closure to vehicles once popular visitor areas become full, are potentially unsafe or in the event of an emergency.
Access to the following locations will be affected if temporary closures are activated:
- Frazer Beach, including Frazer campground and Palms picnic area
- Freemans campground
- Birdie Beach, including Tea Tree picnic area
- Snapper Point
- Wybung Head
In the event of a temporary closure, signage providing advice, barriers and turn around areas will be in position at the:
- Northern park entry on Blue Wren Drive off Pacific Highway, Wybung
- Southern park entry on Birdie Beach Drive off Elizabeth Bay Drive, Lake Munmorah
