Closed areas: Roads closed in Pilliga Forest

Some roads in Pilliga West State Conservation Area and Pilliga West National Park are closed due to subsidence damage. Take care when driving in the area. Please obey all closure notices.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes.The program will be conducted between 26 June 2021 and 30 September 2021 in Pilliga Nature Reserve, Pilliga East State Conservation Area, Timmallallie National Park and Yarrigan National Park.

All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

The Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) will be conducting a baiting program between Thursday 17 June 2021 and Thursday 19 August 2021 in Pilliga State Conservation Area and Pilliga National Park (Gilgai section, south of Dog Proof Fence Road).

The program is for the control of foxes and will involve the use of meat baits and canid pest ejectors containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes.
