Sandy Beach campground will be CLOSED from Friday 15th until Saturday 23rd May 2026, due to maintenance and the resurfacing of the gravel around the toilet facilities. 

No camping is permitted during these dates. If you are unsure of where this campground is, please refer to the campground maps provided when booking online.

Swifts Creek Campground will be closed to visitors due to infrastructure upgrades in the area and an increase in heavy vehicle traffic through the campground.

Closed parks: Park Closed for Aerial Pest Control Operation

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an aerial baiting program in Oolambeyan National Park from Friday 8 May 2026 to Sunday 17 May 2026. Oolambeyan National Park will be closed for this operation. The operation will involve the use of meat baits and meat bait products containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes.

The program is designed to minimise predator impact on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise the impact of foxes on neighbouring stock.

Signs will be placed at the entry points to baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks and Reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting locations. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a aerial baiting program using meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. The program will start on the 11th May 2026 to the 22nd May 2026 in the following areas:

  • Woomargama National Park
  • Woomargama State Conservation Area
  • Mullengandra State Conservation Area

All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Forest Drive trail from west of Middle Beach (-34.6286°, 146.3585°) to east of Ski Beach (-34.6288°, 146.3411°) in Murrumbidgee Valley National Park (MIA 2 Precinct) is closed to the public due to a bushfire in the area.

The fire is called EUROLEY RD, MIA 2. Refer to the Rural Fire Service for latest information. Do not enter any closed area or area with fire. If you see an unattended fire call Triple Zero (000). Woomargama NP/SCA - Tin Mines Trail - Eastern section Closed to Vehicles

Tin Mines Trail is closed in the Eastern section of the park from Galvin's Rd entrance into the Park along Tin Mines trail through to Mandaring Trail (12 km section of trail).

Entrance to camping areas within Woomargama NP can be accessed from the western section of the park from Tunnel Rd or from the Eastern side of the park from Yesches rd then along Cockatoo Creek Trail.

Closure for road maintenance works will be from 7/4/26 to 29/5/26.

Closed areas: Road Closures impacting Millewa Campgrounds - Murray Valley National and Regional Park

Road closures will affect Park and campground access throughout the Millewa Precinct of Murray Valley National and Regional Parks while extensive roads works and infrastructure upgrades are taking place.

 

From the 5th of March to the 1st of April Fishermans Bend Road will be open to Millewa River Road. Millewa River Road will be open from Nestrons Regulator to Pinchgut Regulator.

Campgrounds are open on Millewa River Road between Nestrons Regulator and Pinchgut Regulator for this time period.

Millewa River road is not accessible from Millewa Road and Toupna Crossing Roar is closed, restricting access to Millewa River road from Pinchgut Regulator to Bullatale Regulator.

Campgrounds open for this period within Millewa Murray Valley Regional Park and National Park:

  • Nine Panel campground
  • Fishermans Bend campground
  • Turtle campground
  • Kangaroo Bend campground

Closures during this period are Millewa River Road from Nestrons regulator to the intersection of Fishermans Bend Road and Millewa River Road east of the Toupna Crossing intersection.

Fire bans: Park Fire Ban - The Rock NR - Kengal Aboriginal Place

A park fire ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:

  • They're under direct control of an adult
  • The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)

If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the local park office before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker.
