Closed areas: Mebbin National Park Campground Open with closed access to some trails

Mebbin National Park and Cutters Campground  open 

Some of the walking tracks and trails remain closed due to landslips and erosion caused by the severe rainfall causing dangerous conditions during February/March 2022.

Areas that remain CLOSED until they are made safe:

  • Original section of Byrrill Creek Walking Track (closed due to severe landslip) alternative walking track now available.
  • Lemon Tree Road Fire Trail
  • Walters Road Fire Trail
  • O'Connors Road Fire Trail
  • North Boundary Road Fire Trail
  • Bog Onion Road Fire Trail

Closed areas: Walking track closed and areas open

The following areas are closed from Saturday 30 July 2022 due to recent severe flooding causing multiple treefalls and landslips:

  • Booyong track
  • Rosewood track
  • Palm Valley track
  • Brushbox Falls lookout

These areas will open as soon as repairs are carried out and they are deemed safe for public access.

The following areas are open:

  • Red Cedar loop walking track
  • Helmholtzia loop walking track
  • Brindle Creek walking track
  • Pinnacle lookout and walking track
  • Blackbutts lookout and picnic area
  • Bar Mountain picnic area
  • Beech Glade
  • Falcorostrum loop
  • Bar Mountain Circuit including Bar Mountain lookout

Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters, so you’ll need to reschedule your visit and avoid travel through areas in this park. Closed areas: O'Connors fire trail closed for maintenance

O'Connors fire trail is closed from Monday 10 January 2022 for maintenance and upgrades. Signs will be in place around closed areas.
