The through roads in Mebbin National Park (Mebbin Forest Road and Cadel Road) will be closed for hazardous tree removal and road repair on Friday 14 March 2025 due to heavy rainfall and damaging winds caused by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

Closed areas: Border Loop Lookout closed for roadworks
The Border Loop Lookout and walking track will be closed to all visitors to allow for essential roadworks on the Lions Road.
The Lions Road will be closed to all visitors between Standfield's Bridge at Cougal and the Queensland border.

Byrrill Creek walking track is closed due to landslips and erosion following severe rainfall.
An alternative walking track is now available. Visitors can access this 3km return track from behind the camp kitchen in Cutters Camp campground.
