There will be no access to the BBQ's and picnic tables at Greenfield Beach picnic area in Jervis Bat National Park from Friday 10th February for approximately 4-6 weeks (weather dependant) while the BBQ's are being replaced.

Local Land Services (LLS) is conducting a wild dog trapping program in Brundee Swamp Nature Reserve from Monday 23rd January 2023 to Friday 2nd February 2024.

Signs will be placed at access points to trapping locations.

Safety alerts: Night-time fox control along beaches

Please be aware night shooting of foxes may occur in the following beaches in the coming months to protect nesting shorebirds:

  • Commerong Island (Commerong Island Nature Reserve)
  • Lake Wollumboola/ Warrain Beach (Jervis Bay National Park)
  • Berrara Beach (Conjola National Park)

  • Conjola Beach (Narrawallee Creek Nature Reserve)
  • Buckley’s Beach (Narrawallee Creek Nature Reserve)
  • Pot Holes Beach (Meroo National Park)
  • Wario Beach (Meroo National Park)
  • Tabourie Beach (Meroo National Park)
  • Termeil Beach (Meroo National Park)
  • Pretty Beach (Murramarang National Park)

Fox control is undertaken by qualified shooters in accordance to shot plans between August and March to protect endangered nesting shorebirds.

Access tracks and beach entrances will be closed and signposted prior to shooting operations. Please look out for signage stating the beach is closed if accessing these beaches after dark.

Closed areas: Closed trail - Hammerhead Point picnic area

The access trail to the beach from Hammerhead Point picnic area is closed until further notice due to dangerous cliff edge caused by dune erosion. 

The carpark, picnic area and viewing platform remain open.

Closed parks: Comerong Island Nature Reserve closed

Comerong Island Nature Reserve is closed due to widespread flooding, forecast rain events, impacts on access tracks and closure of the council ferry service. The reserve will re-open after tracks dry out and and are made safe for general access.
